All work must be original, unpublished, and written in English.
If your work is accepted by us for publication, we will contact you to confirm your consent to grant The Berlin Literary Review first serial rights, after which, all rights automatically revert back to you. Should you choose to republish elsewhere, we kindly ask that you acknowledge us as the original publisher.
All submissions are considered for the online magazine.
Please submit your work as a Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) document, double-spaced, using 12-point font.
Simultaneous submissions are accepted, but please withdraw your submission if your work is accepted elsewhere.
We aim to ensure a careful and timely review of all submissions, with response times currently averaging 3–6 weeks.
We pay a minimum honorarium of €10 per accepted piece. When funding allows, we offer higher payments (up to €30). Payment is determined solely by available funds, not by author profile or reputation.
We proudly nominate standout work for the Pushcart Prize and other respected literary awards.
Please refrain from submitting your work if you are a racist, a homophobe, a sexist, or an asshole.
