Rules

Entries must be submitted through the submissions form at the bottom of this page, in a Microsoft Word .doc or .docx document, double-spaced, and 12-point text.

Your name and any other identifying information should not appear in or on the submitted document.

Simultaneous submissions are accepted, but please withdraw your submission if your work is accepted elsewhere.

All submitted work must be 1,500 words or less. There is no minimum word count (what’s that six-word story we’re always hearing about from Ernest Hemingway?).

Writers can submit multiple pieces, though each piece must be accompanied by its own entrance fee.

Winners and shortlisted entrants will be contacted by email. Please note that unsuccessful entrants will not be contacted.

There is no theme for this contest.

Refunds of the entrance fee are not possible unless under exceptional circumstances.

This is an international contest; all submissions must be in English.

All entrants must be over the age of 13.

The contest begins on 1st March 2024 and will close at 11:59 pm on 31st May 2024 (Berlin time). Winners and shortlisted entrants will be announced within four weeks of the closure date.
