KENNETH POBO
Break-Up
He dumped me
near City Hall,
William Penn
seeing the whole thing.
He was perfect
as a book sold
at Barnes & Noble.
I was more of
a crumpled newspaper,
or so he said.
We were dead
in the rain water
pooling on the sidewalk.
Goodbye fell on us
like bird shit. We
walked away,
him to Locust Street
and me to South Street
where I got a tattoo
and ate French fries
out of a cup.
